A million bucks up for grabs, no fluke!
It’s fluke that’s in the AC spotlight, or will be, if someone breaks the 19-pound, 12-ounce New Jersey state record.

Atlantic City is known more for its casinos then for its fishing, but it was along AC’s Vermont Ave. jetty that Albert McReynolds caught his 78.8-pound striped bass in 1982.
That fish reigned as All-Tackle record holder for almost 30 years, surpassed in 2011 by Greg Myerson with an 81.88-pound linesider taken off the Connecticut coast.
Now it’s fluke that’s in the AC spotlight, or will be, if someone breaks the 19-pound, 12-ounce New Jersey state record.
It’s all part of the Aug. 22-24 DO-AC Beach N Boat Fishing Challenge – a three-day free event during which anglers of any age can win up to $5,000 in cash and prizes for catching the largest fish in eight categories. And, should anyone break the fluke record – $1 million.
The odds of breaking that record are higher than hitting a casino jackpot, but since you don’t have to be a high roller to get in on the action, it’s worth your while. The first 600 registrants get a free ride in that million-dollar side contest, after that its $25. Either way the deadline is Aug. 19.
